The Super Food Plaza Cares Program is proud to announce a donation of Afl. 50.000 to Stichting Schouwburg Aruba (Cas di Cultura) - Aruba's national theatre and cultural stage.

Cas di Cultura is the island's center for performing arts and creative expression, hosting theatre, music, dance, film, and educational programs for our community. The center needs a major renovation and is currently raising funds to start the project. By supporting them, we ensure that generations to come can enjoy, learn, and be inspired through the arts.

We're proud to announce that the Super Food Plaza Cares Program has made a donation of Afl. 25,000 to CEDE Aruba! This donation will be distributed among 5 local summer camp programs, helping to create fun, safe and educational experiences for children across the island. The five programs are:

- Grupo Scout St. Paulus Michael: Explorers Fun in The Sun, a one week camp for 20 participants.
- Stichting Ambiente Nobo: a one-week summer camp for 35 people with an intellectual disability.
- Centro di Bario Playa Pabao: a two-week summer camp for 100 participants in Oranjestad West.
- YMCA: Summer Camp Kids & Youth, with 100 participants in two locations, Dakota and San Nicolas.
- Centro di Bario Savaneta: Adventure Kids & Youth summer camp, a two-week program for 50 participants.

Sonrisa Aruba is an inspiring organization of parents and friends of individuals with intellectual disabilities. Their mission is to support families, raise community awareness, and create much-needed facilities right here in Aruba. The funds will go toward purchasing a bus to help clients who don’t have access to transportation get to activities such as:

Social group outings
Scouting events
Vacation programs

The impact of a bus is significant because everyone will be able to participate, connect, and be included — no one left behind. That’s what community is all about.

We're thrilled to announce that thanks to the incredible generosity of our customers, the SFPCP program has made a double donation to Luna Foundation and Sgt. Pepper's Friends foundation, each receiving Afl. 15.000! 

Sgt. Pepper's Friends foundation tirelessly works to match every rescued dog and cat with their perfect forever home, promoting spaying and neutering programs, and advocating for animal welfare in Aruba and beyond.

Meanwhile, Luna Foundation, driven by a dedicated team of volunteers, is dedicated to transforming the lives of animals on our island. They're passionate about education, spaying/neutering, and raising awareness about animal welfare within Aruba's communities.

We are very happy to announce that just before the end of the year, the Super Food Plaza Cares Program has made another donation, this time to Fundacion Sinjami Paso pa Paso Aruba (F.S.P.P.A.) in the amount of Afl. 25.000. This donation was made possible by our amazing customers who support the program every month. 
The goal of F.S.P.P.A. is to provide specialized guidance from various disciplines to benefit children and adults with disabilities and their family members. The services they offer include speech and language therapy, psychological therapy, early stimulation program (for babies and children), homework program for children with disabilities, and more. 
Thanks to this donation, F.S.P.P.A. will be able to continue carrying out its mission of helping people with disabilities.

The Super Food Plaza Cares Program is currently accepting applications from local foundations to receive a donation in 2024.

We are excited to announce that the Super Food Plaza Cares Program has made another donation, this time to ADRA Aruba in the amount of Afl. 25.000. This donation was made possible by our caring customers who support the program every month.

ADRA Aruba works with young mothers between the ages of 14 and 21 to help give them a second chance in life. Having a baby at such a young age does not have to mean that the future is lost. ADRA teaches young mothers theoretical and practical skills to help them return to regular education, increase their chances for employment, or to become self-employed.

ADRA also collaborates with other foundations, such as Wit Gele Kruis and Casa Cuna Progreso to provide a more integrated approach to each situation. The teenage mothers sometimes need assistance in many forms, including housing, psychological support, financial support, etc. Thanks to this donation, ADRA will be able to continue carrying out its mission of helping young mothers.

The Super Food Plaza Cares Program has wonderful news to share! To celebrate the important milestone of Afl. 2.000.000 in donations reached by the program, a special donation was made to an important project being realized between two foundations, Muchila Creativo and Trampolin pa Trabao. Muchila Creativo is an arts-based education foundation for special children and Trampolin pa Trabao is a foundation dedicated to finding employment for individuals with disabilities. A donation in the amount of Afl. 50.000 was made to the Violet Center for the Arts project, an art café located in the Mainstreet of Oranjestad. This donation was made possible by the thousands of caring customers of Super Food Plaza who support the Super Food Plaza Cares Program every month.

The Violet Center for the Arts will be used in the morning hours to teach an array of courses and offering workshops to those needing special education to enter the job market. Trampolin pa Trabao will host the café inside the center. They will run the not-for-profit café and will place workers there.

During the afternoon hours, the Violet Center for the Arts will double as an art gallery, theatre and music venue for local art students. This donation will help finish some important work to be able to open the center to the public. Please help these wonderful foundations by supporting this art café with your visit when it opens later this year.

We are proud to announce that the Super Food Plaza Cares Program has made another donation, this time to Stichting Hunto in the amount of Afl. 25.000. This donation was made possible by our generous customers who support the program every month.

Stichting Hunto aims to provide accessible client-centered integrated primary mental health and addiction care to homeless and severely neglected people who live primarily in the streets. The vision of Stichting Hunto is to see each client's need for recovery and social re-integration being met, through sustained, accessible, and qualitatively integrated primary mental health and addiction care.

The foundation will use these funds to renovate their day shelter for homeless addicts. By upgrading the infrastructure, the shelter can offer enhanced amenities such as comfortable sleeping quarters, clean restroom facilities, and private areas for counseling sessions.

The Super Food Plaza Cares Program is delighted to announce a new donation, this time to Fundashon Hospice Atardi in the amount of Afl. 25.000. This donation was made possible thanks to the thousands of noble customers who support the program every month. Hospice Atardi is a home where terminally ill patients can spend their last phase of life in a loving, respectful place surrounded by caring people. Attention is given to each patient’s independence, and a holistic approach is followed with a focus on reducing suffering. This donation will be used by the foundation to purchase some needed equipment, such as a washing machine, dishwasher, and oven, and to perform some necessary maintenance on the home. Thanks to the support of our amazing customers, the Super Food Plaza Cares Program is proud to announce a new donation, this time to Stichting Reclassering en Jeugdbescherming Aruba in the amount of Afl. 25.000.

This donation will be used by the foundation to acquire and create materials to start a new program targeted toward juveniles between the ages of 12 and 17 years old. These youngsters have come into contact with police for small offenses and a new program will be set up to provide guidance and to prevent these youngsters from committing more serious offenses and receiving a criminal record.

It really takes a community to raise a child and therefore it is extremely important that young offenders receive proper support to understand the difference between right and wrong. Proper guidance will help prevent these youngsters from becoming criminals in the future.

We are excited to announce Super Food Plaza Cares Program’s third donation of the year in the amount of Afl. 30.000 to Koningin Wilhelmina Fonds (KWF) Aruba!  This wonderful donation was made possible thanks to our noble customers who choose to support the program and help the community.  The purpose of KWF is to support cancer patients living in Aruba. The foundation exists since 1961 and helps cancer patients and their families. Some of the help that they offer  includes home care, transportation to treatments, prostheses, and more. We would like to thank our customers for their continued support of the Super Food Plaza Cares Program, together we can help the community! 

Thanks to the continued support of our customers, the Super Food Plaza Cares Program has made a donation of Afl. 25.000 to  Brighter Future Academy. Brighter Future Academy is an applied behavior analysis therapy school that utilizes behavioral techniques and principles to treat children diagnosed with autism, ADHD/ADD, developmental delays, down syndrome, and behavioral challenges. Due to the closure of CEDES (Centro di Educacion Special) last year, 27 children were left without a school or the opportunity for further development and growth. Brighter Future Academy Foundation was able to partially fill this need and, with this donation, will be able to offer more help to special children. October was breast cancer awareness month, and Mary Joan Foundation is in need of funds to continue their invaluable work for the Aruba community. MJF helps guide and support women and men who are suffering from breast cancer and their families. Next to the psychological and social support that they offer, they also create awareness in an effort to help patients seek treatment as early as possible. 

𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐰𝐞𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐅𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐳𝐚 𝐜𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐬, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐅𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐳𝐚 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐚 𝐝𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐟𝐥. 𝟐𝟓.𝟎𝟎𝟎 𝐭𝐨 𝐒𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐡𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐦𝐛𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞 𝐍𝐨𝐛𝐨.Stichting Ambiente Nobo was founded in 2004 to help parents of people with mental disabilities. In our community, there is little to no options for those over age 25 who are dependent on their parents or family due to a mental disability. At Ambiente Nobo, this group (consisting of 45 people) is offered a safe place to spend the day doing activities, art, physical activity and much more. This allows parents of adults with a mental disability to keep a job and provide for their family.

Due to budget cuts, Stichting Ambiente Nobo was facing the grim task of having to cut their hours of operation, thereby creating other problems for the clients and their families. Thanks to this donation, Ambiente Nobo will be able to continue providing their services to the community as we have become used to.

Thanks to the support of Super Food Plaza customers, the Super Food Plaza Cares Program was able to make a donation of Afl. 25.000 to Stichting Wit Gele Kruis tienermoederafdeling (department for teenage mothers). The mission of this department is to provide professional support to teenage mothers between 11 and 19 years of age, through preventive and curative interventions to create and maintain a living environment that is as healthy and safe as possible for the teenage mom and her baby. In 2021, 45 teenage mothers gave birth to a baby in Aruba. This was a decline of 38.4% compared to the year before, but we must continue to work to reduce this number even more. Every teenage mother and her child are at a high risk of social difficulties in the future. Through coaching, training, professional advice, research, and science, Stichting Wit Gele Kruis helps support teenage moms and works to prevent more teenage pregnancies.

Thanks to the loyal support of our customers, the Super Food Plaza Cares Program has made a donation of Afl. 30.000 to Fundacion Movemento Ta Bida. 

This foundation focuses on organizing physical activities, both social and recreational, for people over 60 to keep them active in the golden years. 

Active seniors can continue to function independently and enjoy a higher quality of life. 

FMTB is also starting a new program to help seniors with mobility issues in the home.

We are proud of our customers because thanks to your donations, the Super Food Plaza Cares Program is able to help several summer programs for at-risk youth. The donation of Afl. 25.000 was made to C.E.D.E. Aruba, which in turn divided this amount over several summer programs:

• Fundacion Centro Famia Piedra Plat, Afl. 5.000 for the Fun Musical Camp, an educational, creative, and sports-oriented summer camp with focus on good values for children between 6 and 12 years of age.
• Fundacion Centro di Bario Playa Pabou, Afl. 5.000 for the summer camp focusing on creativity, movement, dance, social skills, and teamwork for 80 – 100 children.
• Stichting Creciendo, Afl. 5.000 for Creative Kids Club Camp, where children from 8 – 12 years of age learn folkloric dances and pop street dance, make costumes from recycled materials, make music, and produce a show.
• YMCA of Aruba summer camp, Afl. 5.000, where up to 150 children from Dakota and San Nicolas ages 4 and up learn new skills and enjoy recreational possibilities in a positive and encouraging environment.
• Fundacion Centro Familiar Sabana Basora Noord, Afl. 2.500, a summer camp for 60 children ages 6-13, where the focus is on music, art, and recreational activities.
• Stichting Casa Cuna Porgreso, Afl. 2.500 to organize summer vacation activities with all the children living there.

Thanks to the wonderful support of Super Food Plaza customers, the Super Food Plaza Cares Program was able to make a donation of Afl. 50.000 to Animal Welfare Alliance Aruba (A.W.A.A.).

This new foundation is a collaboration between five active and well-known animal rescue foundations: Criojo Trappers, Luna Foundation, Nine Lives Aruba Foundation, Sgt. Pepper’s Friends and United Dogs Aruba.

The purpose of A.W.A.A. is to start a low-cost spay and neuter clinic to spay and neuter cats and dogs of low-income families. Through years of experience of the volunteers in the aforementioned foundations, they have concluded that to really reduce the number of stray animals on the streets, this is the best approach. It will be paired with an education and awareness campaign for the community as well. The number of reports each animal rescue foundation gets and the cries for help is overwhelming. All rescues, shelters, and fosters are overloaded with cats and dogs, a situation that became worse due to the pandemic. We urgently need to act and stop the procreation of offspring. One female dog, when not sterilized, can procreate with her offspring up to 67.000 puppies in 6 years. One female cat, when not sterilized, can procreate with her offspring up to 11.7 million kittens in 9 years.

To achieve a long-term solution, we need to sterilize a massive number of animals to establish a decrease in numbers. A.W.A.A.’s goal is to start Oct 1st, 2022 with a 3-month try-out in which they aim to spay and neuter some 1.000 to 1.250 animals. Their goal is to sterilize between 6.250 - 9.000 dogs and cats in 2023.

Thank you to all our customers who support the Super Food Plaza Cares Program! Your support has made it possible for the program to make another donation, this time to Fundacion Muchila Creativo in the amount of Afl. 25.000.  This foundation exists for almost 19 years and has evolved into an arts-based school for special children (Down syndrome, autism and other disabilities) between the ages of 15 and 25 years. Their main goal is to prepare the students to work in the community. The school offers a wide program where students can develop their competencies through the arts. 

Thanks to the continued support of our customers, the Super Food Plaza Cares Program has made a donation of Afl. 25.000 to Heart-Centered Leadership Foundation. Our financial manager Mr. Erick Kelly handed over the symbolic check to Ms. Keyla Rojas and Mrs. Micheline Rojer-de Kort of HCLF. Thank you very much to the Super Food Plaza customers for the support.

Heart-Centered Leadership Foundation (HCLF) was founded in 2008, with the goal of working on positive character development of young people by strengthening self-esteem and promoting authenticity and integrity among young people. HCLF does this by supporting schools and youth organizations and by providing teachers, professionals in the social field and parents with tools that enable them to better guide young people towards a positive, healthy and successful future. HCLF achieves this by immediately involving young people and letting them discover themselves and how they can give direction and substance to their lives in a positive way. It is important to invest in our youth because this generation will be the generation that contributes to our community in the future.
